The Provo Amtrak station is a train station in Provo, Utah, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. It is served daily by the California Zephyr. The station was little more than a plexiglas bus shelter along the tracks until 2002, when it was replaced by a pair of decorative shelters, one of which is enclosed.
Of the four Utah stations served by Amtrak, Provo was the second busiest in FY2010, boarding or detraining an average of approximately 14 passengers daily.[2]
Even though the Utah Transit Authority's FrontRunner South commuter rail line will use the same right-of-way through downtown Provo that the California Zephyr does, UTA is building its own station in Provo that will be farther east (next to U.S. Highway 189 and the planned Provo-Orem Bus Rapid Transit line) and not directly connected to the current Amtrak station.
